Our story
A family, a coffee table covered in bricks, and a bed that belonged to the stuffed animals. That is where Creative QT comes from.
Creative QT started in 2015 at a coffee table in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our two kids built with bricks on the rug, and every build ended the same way: stepped on, scattered, swept into a bin with the dog hair.
We stuck a baseplate to the top of that coffee table so the builds had somewhere to stand. It held. Friends asked for plates of their own, and that is how our first product came about.
The plates fixed the table. They did not fix the floor. Bricks still ended up under the sofa, so we sewed a round mat with a raised edge and a drawstring and tested it on our own living room for a winter. That mat grew up into SlideAway: it opens to 52 inches, and the two handles slide everything back into a basket with a lid.
Then the stuffed animals took over the bed. Every parent knows the pile. It grows at birthdays, at every trip to the grandparents, at every dentist visit that ends with a prize. Nobody wants to throw a single one away.
So we made a bean bag cover with no beans. You fill the Stuff 'n Sit with the plush pile, zip it shut, and your child has a seat. The 90 animal cover suits most bedrooms. The 140 animal cover is for the families whose pile has its own zip code.

Everything we make is tested at home first, ours and our friends'. We wash the covers, then check what happened to the seams and the zipper. We hand the plates to a six year old with a box of bricks. If a thing only works when a parent does it, we go back to the drawing board, because the point is that the kids tidy up.
Our range is small on purpose. We make 5 things and offer them in 29 sizes and colors. Each one does a single job in the playroom, and each one has limits, which we write down on the product page next to the good parts.
Some limits are simple. A Stuff 'n Sit is soft storage, not a bean bag chair with a frame, so it slumps when the pile is thin. A baseplate is flat plastic, and it will not level a warped table. The wall panel needs someone to hang it straight, and on a plaster wall that takes a drill and anchors.
Our motto is Make Time Together, and we mean it literally. A playroom that tidies itself in two minutes gives a family ten more minutes of play. We would rather you spent them building than sorting.
